Question to the Home Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, pursuant to Answer of 27 November 2018 to Question 181253 on Deportation: Windrush Generation; what evidence he has sought to inform his decision not to make a specific attempt to inform those 49 people of the existence of the Windrush Taskforce; if he will make it his policy to attempt to inform them; and if he will make a statement.

There is no evidence to indicate that any of these individuals were in the UK before 1973 and therefore potentially entitled to status under the 1971 Immigration Act.

Any individual who believes they are protected under the provisions of the 1971 Immigration Act is able to contact the Windrush Taskforce, who will help to identify their current status.
