Question to the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, what support the Government is giving to the efforts of the Palestinian National Unity Government to reconnect Gaza and the West Bank.

We welcomed the announcement on the formation of a new interim technocratic government for the Occupied Palestinian Territories. Reuniting Gaza and the West Bank under a government committed to peace is a necessary condition for resolving the Israel-Palestinian conflict.

The UK Government fully supports the Palestinian Authority’s efforts to regain control of Gaza and restore effective and accountable governance.
