Question to the HM Treasury:

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer, whether HM Treasury civil servants who are assigned to London but permanently move to No10 North will (a) lose their London weighting allowance in absolute terms, (b) be compensated for the loss of the London weighting through an increase in base salary or by promotion; and whether they will be paid a relocation allowance.

HM Treasury civil servants who permanently transfer to a role in No.10 North would be subject to the employment terms and pay policies of the Cabinet Office as the receiving department. The Cabinet Office would determine any location allowance payable in accordance with its pay policies, and in line with wider Civil Service guidance. Relocation would not result in an automatic increase in base salary, compensation for any change in location allowance, or promotion.
