Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:
To ask the Secretary of State for Health, what progress NHS England has made on its review of patient experience; and if he will make a statement.
NHS England is currently reviewing its programme of patient experience and outcomes data collection. The insight review aims to ensure that the data collected meets the needs of NHS England and its partners as effectively as possible. To inform this review, a steering group has been meeting quarterly to discuss priorities for data collection. This group includes a number of national stakeholder organisations in the health and care system; clinical commissioning groups (CCGs) and NHS trusts; the third sector and patient groups; and clinical representatives. The review is also being informed by interviews with patient experience data leads in CCGs and commissioning support units. A new insight strategy will be published by NHS England in spring 2015.
