Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:
To ask the Secretary of State for Health, what estimate he has made of the number of people with eye infections caused by sub-standard contact lenses.

No estimation has been made of the number of people with eye infections caused by sub-standard contact lenses.
Prescription contact lenses must comply with the Medical Devices Directive and must carry a CE marking to denote compliance with the Directive.
