Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health, what guidance his Department issues on measures to prevent patients regaining consciousness during surgical operations.

The Department does not publish clinical guidance on measures to prevent patients regaining consciousness during surgical operations. It is the role of the Royal College of Anaesthetists to provide guidance on training and standards of clinical care in anaesthesia.
