Question to the Home Office:
To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, how many false passports have been confiscated from people (a) entering and (b) leaving the UK in each year since 2011.
The number of false travel documents, passports and national identity cards, detected by Border Force officers that have been presented by passengers arriving at the UK border since 2011 are:
1,857 – 2011
1,652 – 2012
2,018 – 2013
Obtaining such statistics on passengers leaving the country would incur disproportionate costs.
