Question to the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office:
To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, if he will take steps to ensure that intelligence equipment sold to the Colombian navy and army is not used to carry out surveillance on people involved in the Colombian peace talks and process.
As with all export licences, each application for Colombia is assessed on a case-by-case basis against the Consolidated EU and National Arms Export Licensing Criteria. We will not issue an export licence if we assess that there is a clear risk that the goods might be used for internal repression.
