The Department takes its obligations to conduct Post Implementation Reviews (PIRs) seriously and had a single PIR outstanding in the RPC's May 2026 update.

We are considering the requirements for governance and disclosure set out in Part V of the Occupational Pension Schemes (Scheme Administration) (Amendment) Regulations 2016 alongside the Government's wider programme of pension reforms, given the close relationship between the proposed Value for Money (VfM) framework and these requirements. We are committed to conducting the PIR and will report once the relevant VfM reforms have been developed sufficiently to better understand and reflect the wider context.
