Question to the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy:

To ask the Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, if she will make it her policy to support a formal bid by the UK to host the 26th session of the Conference of Parties to the 1992 United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change in 2020.

At the 24th UNFCCC Conference of Parties (COP 24) we expressed an interest in hosting COP26 in 2020, along with other countries from the Western European and Other Countries Group (WEOG). We are currently engaging with the interested countries and WEOG.
