Question to the Department for Transport:

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, if he will bring forward proposals to require airlines to reimburse the air fares of people who cannot fly on their date of travel because of ill health.

There is no legal authority obliging airlines to refund air fares, including for those who choose not to fly due to ill health. The Department would advise that people should take out suitable travel insurance to cover for such circumstances.
