Question to the Department for Work and Pensions:

To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, what metrics were used to determine whether the IT systems developed to facilitate the delivery of universal credit pathfinders were fit for purpose.

DWP uses a standard methodology to design and test business processes and IT systems. These have been developed over years of best practice using external expertise and in-house practitioners who have many years of experience in delivering DWP business. These best practice methods have been used to test that the Universal Credit IT systems and business processes are complete and fit for purpose prior to roll out.
