The CPS defendant case outcome records include an allocation of a reason for each unsuccessful outcome, including the number which did not proceed because of victim issues. These records are centrally collated under the following twelve Principal Offence Categories.

Homicide

Offences against the person

Sexual offences

Burglary

Robbery

Theft and handling

Fraud and forgery

Criminal damage

Drugs offences

Public order offences

Motoring offences

All other offences
