(asked on 3rd November 2014) - View Source

Question to the Home Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, if she will place in the Library the guidance her Department issues to police officers about cyclists riding on footpaths; what recent discussions she has had with the police about that issue; and if she will make a statement.

The department receives correspondence from MPs and members of the public about the police enforcement of the offence of cycling on the footpath. The Home Office has issued no formal guidance or instructions to the police on this offence. The enforcement of this offence is an operational matter for the police, as determined locally and based on local priorities.
