Question to the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, what assistance the Government has provided to the authorities in China since the earthquake in Yunnan province.

The Chinese authorities did not request any assistance following the earthquake in Yunnan Province. The Chinese Government dispatched over 2,500 soldiers to the region. Our consular team monitored the situation closely, and established that no British nationals were involved in the disaster.
