The Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, my right hon. Friend the Member for Runnymede and Weybridge (Mr Hammond), has not spoken directly to the Argentine Foreign Minister on this issue. Neither did his predecessor my right hon. Friend the Member for Richmond (Yorks) (Mr Hague).

In February 2013 my right hon. Friend the Member for Richmond (Yorks) (Mr Hague), and representatives of the Falkland Islands Government, offered to meet with Mr Timerman to discuss issues of mutual interest in the South Atlantic, including hydrocarbons. This meeting was declined.
