The Government is committed to the policy of free admission to the permanent collections of the museums and galleries sponsored by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport, which is a condition of grant-in-aid. The Government has limited reductions in funding for national museums in order to maintain free entry, and to protect their world-class collections and front-line services.
