Question to the Cabinet Office:

To ask the Minister for the Cabinet Office, what criteria the Government uses to determine whether public appointments should be regulated by the Commissioner for Public Appointments.

Public appointments that are subject to regulation by the Commissioner for Public Appointments are governed by legislation - the Public Appointments Order in Council 2014. This lists the public bodies that fall within the Commissioner’s remit and is now updated annually.
