Question to the Department for Transport:

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, whether the savings to the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency generated by the abolition of the tax disc will be returned to the Treasury.

The Department receives funding from Her Majesty’s Treasury for the collection of vehicle excise duty. As abolishing the tax disc has led to a reduction in administration costs, the funding received has been reduced.
