Question to the Ministry of Defence:

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, with reference to page 78 of his Department's Strategic Defence Review, published 2 June 2025, whether he has maintained military-to-military channels of communication with China.

This Government takes a consistent, long term and strategic approach to managing our relationship with China rooted in UK and global interests.

Defence maintains military-to-military channels of communication with China to avoid miscalculation or misunderstanding in time of crisis.
