The security situation in Sulu province remains tense and the FCO continue to advise against all travel to western and central Mindanao and the Sulu archipelago because of terrorist activity and clashes between the military and insurgent groups.

The UK works with the Philippines Authorities on a range of bilateral priorities including on counter terrorism.

I issued a statement on 27th January condeming the recent attack in Sulu Province. The UK stands with the Philippines against terror and hatred.
