Question

To ask the Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change, what estimate his Department has made of the amount of addtional rooftop solar PV expected to be installed in 2015-16 as a result of the feed-in tariff changes announced on 2 October 2014.

This question was answered on 4th December 2014

The creation of separate feed-in tariff degression bands for 1) 50kW+ building-mounted/other-than-stand-alone (typically rooftop solar PV) and 2) ground mounted/stand-alone solar PV was announced on 2nd October 2014. The objective is to remove the risk of high levels of stand-alone deployment triggering degressions for the other-than-stand-alone sector which are not reflective of falls in its costs or the removal of barriers to deployment.

The amount of 50kW+ other-than-stand-alone solar PV expected to be installed (deployment) in 2015-16 under a range of scenarios is set out in Table 1 of the Impact Assessment.
