Question to the Ministry of Defence:

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, with reference to page 19 of his Department's Defence Diplomacy Strategy, published 24 March 2026, what progress he has made on making defence diplomacy a whole of society effort.

The Ministry of Defence is working internally and across Government to promote and develop Defence Diplomacy as a whole-of-society effort. As per the commitments in the strategy, this includes work to enhance our use of culture, history and ceremonial excellence to appeal to all of society to utilise Defence Diplomacy to its fullest effect. Work is also underway to explore how collaboration can be done most effectively with think tanks to deliver our defence diplomacy aims.
