Question to the Home Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, how many people were employed by her Department as asylum claim caseworkers in each year since 2010.

We are not able to provide the information requested as the data we hold for the years requested is not directly comparable due to the differentiation of job roles over that time. As at January 2014, there were 309 caseworkers engaged in interviewing and making decisions on asylum cases.
