All staff employed by the Department for Education are paid above the Living Wage, as defined by the Living Wage Foundation.

The Department’s facilities management providers employ 133 staff paid below the Living Wage (as at 30 November 2014).

Of these, 72 (54%) are women and 61 (46%) are men. 48 (36%) are white British, 20 (15%) are non-white British and 65 (49%) declined to state their ethnicity.
