The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office leads the Government’s response to humanitarian crises. The Department of Health and Social Care works closely with the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office to respond to requests for medical aid, to ensure assistance is provided in line with the broader cross-government humanitarian strategy. This includes delivering against specific needs on the ground as defined by humanitarian organisations, which are often well placed to respond to crises.
