Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:
To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, pursuant to WPQ 546 answered on 8 July 2026 about Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, if she will have discussions with [a] NHS England and [b] local ICBs on the reasons for patients being diagnosed with complex post-traumatic stress disorder in England.
We are currently developing a new mental health strategy for England, to be published later this year, which will set out how we will improve access, intervene earlier, reduce waiting times, and support people to stay well in their communities, for everyone experiencing mental ill health, including people with complex post-traumatic stress disorder. This will be informed by the upcoming report of Dr Peter Fonagy’s independent review into prevalence and support for mental health conditions, ADHD, and autism.
