Question to the Department for Education:

To ask the Secretary of State for Education, if she will publish guidance on how to promote British values in school and ensure that traditional faith teaching is not considered extremism.

The Department for Education published guidance on 27 November 2014. The guidance illustrates how schools can actively promote the fundamental British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs. This is wholly consistent with traditional faith teaching.
