Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health, what discussions he has had with the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence on the use of patient decision aids to support the use of off-patent drugs outside of their licensed indications.

We have asked the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence to consider whether one of the patient decision aids it is piloting could focus on relevant prescribing aspects of its clinical guideline on familial breast cancer.
