Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health, what assessment he has made of the implications for his Department's policies of obesity care of the recent ruling by the European Court of Justice ruling that obesity can constitute a disability under certain circumstances.

The ruling by the European Court of Justice does not change the Department’s policies on obesity. We will continue to work to help people to improve their diet and reduce physical inactivity, alongside working with partners to shape an environment where the healthier choice is the easier choice.
