Question to the Department for Transport:
To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, what consideration his Department gave to using the Welsh and Scottish flags for licences issued to drivers in Wales and Scotland respectively.
The Department has considered giving motorists a choice of national symbol. The excessive cost involved in making the systems and other changes required to offer this choice means this is impractical. To ensure that the cost is kept as low as possible national symbols other than the Union flag will not be included.
