Question to the Department for Transport:
To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, pursuant to his Written Statement of 8 January 2015, WS175, on Rail in the North: Rolling Stock, how long he expects the lease for the new rolling stock to run; and which rolling-stock leasing company will provide the new rolling stock.
This question was answered on 13th January 2015
Leases will be in place until at least the end of the current franchises in February 2016. Commercial terms for the leases are still being agreed, so I am not in a position to outline the providers at this time.
