Question to the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport:
To ask the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport, what estimate he has made of the cost of hiring externally contracted staff at the National Gallery during the next 12 months.

The Department has not made any estimates of the National Gallery's externally contracted staff. The National Gallery operates at arm's length from the Department, and as such has responsibility for making its own estimates. I have therefore asked the Director of the National Gallery to write to the Hon. Member. A copy of the reply will be placed in the Libraries of both Houses.
