Question to the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs:

To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, what steps she is taking to protect capercaillie habitat and reduce the number of pine martens.

Wildlife management and protection are devolved issues, so I can only answer for England. There are no populations of capercaillie in England. In England, pine martens are protected and Defra has no plans to take steps to reduce their numbers.
