We are carefully monitoring political protests currently taking place in Ecuador, including their potential impact on the safety of British Nationals. Our Embassy is in close contact with the Ecuadorean authorities, including the Ecuadorean Foreign Minister. The British Embassy in Quito is providing support to a small number of affected British Nationals across Ecuador, and we will continue to update the UK's travel advice for Ecuador as necessary.

The UK is clear that law and order must be upheld and that a peaceful resolution to the protests needs to be found. On 21st June we signed a joint statement with other nations represented in Ecuador calling for peace and dialogue by both sides.
