Fish: Poaching

Question to the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs:

To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, what assessment she has made of whether the maximum penalties available for poaching fish in English and Welsh rivers are sufficient to deter people from committing that offence.

The maximum penalty of £50,000 for poaching fish currently in place in England and Wales continues to be considered appropriate in deterring people from committing that offence.
