Question to the Home Office:
To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, what assessment she has made of whether the UK-based organisations on the list of terrorist organisations and groups published by the United Arab Emirates government in November 2014 are terrorist organisations.
An assessment of whether a group is considered to be a terrorist organisation is made when it is considered for proscription. However we do not routinely comment on whether an organisation is or is not under consideration for proscription. A decision to proscribe an organisation must be based on a belief that it is concerned in terrorism as defined in the Terrorism Act 2000, and it must be proportionate.
