Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, what the cost to the public purse was of the NHS treating preventable alcohol-related injuries in (a) 2016, (b) 2017 and (c) 2018.

Data on National Health Service spending on alcohol related injuries or conditions is not available in the format requested. However, the costs to the NHS in England associated with alcohol misuse are estimated at £3.5 billion each year.
