Question to the Department for Work and Pensions:
To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, what proportion of the child maintenance arrears owed in respect of Child Support Agency cases where a child could still benefit is owed by a parent who is self-employed or a director of a private company.
As at December 2014, 12.4%1 of the amount of arrears where there is a qualifying child remaining on the case is owed by non resident parents who are self-employed.
Information on the job title of non-resident parents is not routinely recorded for management information purposes and could only be provided at disproportionate cost.
