Question to the HM Treasury:

To ask Mr Chancellor of the Exchequer, what assessment he has made of the contribution of the English wine industry to the UK economy.

There is information publically available on this subject; for example, Ernst and Young (EY) have recently published its economic impact analysis of the wine industry in the UK. The EY report which can be found online includes estimates of the wine industry’s financial contribution to the UK economy, contribution to economic activity and the number of jobs the industry supports.
