Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health, how many prescriptions for asthma medications were issued in each of the last five years.

Information is not collected centrally on the numbers of prescriptions issued, the number of people prescribed medicines or the medical condition being treated. However, information is available on the number of prescription items dispensed in the community in England. This is attached.
