Question to the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs:
To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, how much her Department spent on (a) television advertising, (b) radio advertising, (c) national newspaper advertisements, (d) local newspaper advertisements, (e) social media advertising and (f) other types of advertising in each year since 2010.
The Department does not record information at the level of detail requested, and to determine such information would incur disproportionate cost. However, the Department’s Annual Report and Accounts set out details of total spend on publicity, marketing and promotion each year. The table below shows such spend in each financial year from 2010-11 to 2013-14 (the last financial year for which a set of accounts has been published).
Financial Year | Spend on Publicity, Marketing and Promotion (£000) |
2010/11 | 1,659 |
2011/12 | 869 |
2012/13 | 1,217 |
2013/14 | 1,060 |
