The Troops to Teachers programme ran from January 2012 with the last cohort starting in September 2017.

A total of 267 ex-service personnel took part in the programme.

The scheme has been replaced by a new Troops to Teachers initial teacher training bursary available from September 2018. The bursary, worth £40,000 over two years, is available to veterans who study for an undergraduate degree with qualified teacher status in England in a priority subject.
