Question to the Department for Transport:

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, what steps he has taken since 1 July 2016 to assess the effect of the UK’s departure from the EU on Eurotunnel’s handling of freight volumes from the continent.

A number of cross-Government working groups have been established to consider the impacts on imports into the UK after EU Exit, including steering groups with Eurotunnel. We have been in dialogue with Eurotunnel throughout our EU Exit planning, including in relation to handling of freight.
