Schools in England have a legal duty to do all that they can to ensure that children with special educational needs get the support they need.

Advice to schools in England on carrying out this duty is given in the statutory guidance provided in the ‘Special Educational Needs and Disability Code of Practice: 0-25 Years’.[1]
