Question to the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office:
To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, what recent representations he has made to his counterparts on the United Nations Security Council on the formal designation of Masood Azhar as a global terrorist.
The UK continues to support with other partner the listing of Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) leader, Masood Azhar, at the UN, as we did in 2016 and 2017. We are working closely with international partners, including members of the UN Security Council, to pursue this listing. JeM are already listed by the UN and have been proscribed in the UK since 2001; in addition, JeM has been proscribed in Pakistan since 2002.
