Question to the Ministry of Defence:

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, with reference to the 2025 Strategic Defence Review, what progress has he made in enabling Headquarters Standing Joint Command (UK) to command all UK military support to national resilience under the MSHQ, as outlined in Recommendation 44.

Standing Joint Command (UK) is already the UK's Joint Operational Headquarters for homeland resilience. It commands Defence support to civil authorities during national resilience events, including natural disasters and other domestic incidents.

Through its regional Joint Military Commands, liaison officers and links with local Resilience Forums and police forces, SJC(UK) provides the Defence network needed to connect national direction with local delivery across the UK.
