Question to the HM Treasury:

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer, what discussions he had with (a) the Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, (b) the boiler manufacturing industry and (c) trade unions prior to his announcement on 13 March 2019 of a ban on gas boilers in new dwellings from 2025.

As part of its preparations for Spring Statement, HM Treasury engages with a wide range of stakeholders and other government departments. The government will consult on the detail of the Future Homes Standard as part of its review of the Building Regulations energy efficiency standards in 2019, and input from stakeholders will be welcomed.
