Question to the Home Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, if his Department will make an assessment of the potential merits of removing visa charges for Commonwealth armed forces personnel applying for indefinite leave to remain.

We currently have no plans to exempt commonwealth nationals who have served in HM Forces from paying a fee when applying to settle in the UK.

The Home Office reviews fees on a yearly basis and income from fees charged for immigration and nationality applications plays a vital role in our ability to run a sustainable immigration and nationality system and minimize the burden on the taxpayer
