Question to the Department for Work and Pensions:

To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, what the projected cost is of his Department's appeal relating to the Information Commissioner's decision on his Department's report entitled Incapacity Benefits: Deaths of Claimants.

The Department is only able to provide an estimate for the costs of its ligation solicitors and Counsel. At present, these costs have been estimated at between £3,600 to £6,000 inclusive of VAT (£3,000 to £5,000 excluding VAT).
